Josef Dvořák in a unique adaptation of the V+W musical

The timeless musical by Jiří Voskovec and Jan Werich, The Enchanted Vessel, in a distinctive adaptation by the most famous Czech portrayal of a water spirit, Josef Dvořák.

In a comedic story set in the fictional South American state of Missitucky, the main role is actually played by a pot full of gold. South Bohemian Josef Novák steals it from the Třeboň water spirit Čochtan before leaving home, in the naive belief that it will help him easily become rich in America, providing his only daughter Káča with a carefree life. And since the mentioned pot also has the magical power to grant three wishes, there is no shortage of surprising dramatic twists.

The Enchanted Vessel, however, is not a fairy tale in the traditional sense, as it predominantly deals with purely human issues.
